Mixed farming and livestock breeding

Our partner breeders are passionate about livestock farming, either as their primary activity or through mixed farming. The development of agriculture in France has occurred in recent decades with highly specialized farms. Mixed farming provides natural soil amendment, which is particularly valuable for organic cereal farmers or those near large cities, such as Paris, who need to reduce the use of fertilizer on their plots.

Our breeding in Ile-de-France

Since May 2023, we have been raising a flock of 25 sheep in the Chevreuse Valley, a true laboratory of life.

In 2025, we will welcome new rams from Europe and beyond. With their very fine wool, these rams will be a key asset in competing with global standards.

This breeding activity allows us to understand the profession of breeder, health risks such as bluetongue, climatic hazards such as drought and excessive rain.

It also allows us to validate the economic hypotheses of a livestock farm where wool becomes a significant source of income.

BREEDING

We laid the foundations of our project by working with two partners:

The Filbois farm in Aufferville in Seine et Marne (Vincent MORISSEAU)

The Mas de Cadenet Vieux in the Bouches du Rhône (Frédéric GALLE)

Two breeders, two different terroirs, which will allow us to appreciate in the near future two operating formats depending on the terroirs and the expectations of the breeders

The breeders of Arles

In the Arles region, a mountainous region in the southeast, we have forged strong links with sheep farmers.
Working together with these committed actors around a common cause, promoting their work and wool, this is a mission that we are proud to accomplish!
